Important Information for 2025-2026 Registration

Dear WSHS Parents and Guardians,

We are excited to announce that course registration for the 2025-2026 school year is just around the corner! Below, you will find key dates, steps in the process, and helpful resources to guide you and your student through this important time.

Key Dates & Registration Steps:

• Monday, January 8th: Advisory Session: Review Graduation Credits
  Students will receive their academic history and graduation checklist, which will help them determine which credits they still need to fulfill graduation requirements.
• Wednesday, January 15th: Registration Opens & Option Sheets Distributed
  Registration officially begins, and students will receive their grade-level Option Sheets during advisory. These Option Sheets will help guide their course selections. While the parent signature is not required for completion, we encourage parents to engage in conversation with their student about the courses they are considering.
• Thursday, January 16th: Advisory Focus: English, Science, Spanish & Computer Science Courses
  Advisory will continue with an overview of English, Science, Spanish, and Computer Science courses available for the following year.
• Friday, January 17th: Advisory Focus: Math, Social Studies, Chinese & Business Courses
  Advisory will continue with an overview of math, social studies, Chinese, and business courses available for the coming year.
• Monday, January 20th: Online Registration Opens on The Source Portal
  Students can log in to The Source to access the “Class Registration” tab on the left side of the screen and begin selecting their courses for the next school year.
• Tuesday, January 21st: Advisory Focus: Career Tech, Fine Arts, & French Courses
  Advisory will focus on a discussion of career tech classes, fine arts, and French offerings.
• Wednesday, January 22nd: Registration Closes
  By the end of the day, students must submit their completed Option Sheets to their advisory teacher. The online registration portal will also close at midnight. It is crucial that students complete both steps (online registration and submitting the Option Sheet) by the deadline.

Additional Support

• Counselor Availability: Counselors will be available in the Commons during lunch from January 8th to January 22nd to assist students with any registration questions. We encourage students to drop by for guidance.
• Subject Area Highlights: During advisory sessions on January 16th, 17th, and 21st, content area teachers will be speaking with students about course offerings in their respective departments and answering any questions.
• Teacher Consultations: We strongly encourage students to consult with their current teachers about course selections to ensure they align with academic goals and future plans.
• Counselor Meetings in February: In February, counselors will meet individually with students through their math classes to review their course selections and ensure they align with both their graduation requirements and college/career goals.

What is Advisory?

Advisory is a dedicated time each day, attached to students’ 3rd period, during which school announcements, school-wide lessons, and assemblies are accessed. It also provides an opportunity for students to receive personalized guidance, including course selection and registration assistance.
