A West Seattle High School student has tested positive for pertussis, also known as “whooping cough”. It is a treatable bacterial respiratory infection that can be serious in very young children, the elderly, and those who have chronic asthma/respiratory illnesses. If you think that you or your child may have pertussis, please call your doctor for advice.
