SPORTS SIGN-UP DETAILS – MANDATORY PARENT/ATHLETE SUMMER MEETINGS
If you are playing a Fall sport, the last date to turn in a athletic packet before the summer will be on Friday June 19th. Packets will not be accepted over the summer. Packets will then be accepted starting Wednesday August 12th with a deadline of Friday August 14th. Packets turned in after Friday August 14th may affect your practice opportunities.

The first day of football begins on Wednesday August 19th, all other sport start on Monday August 24th. Before you can participate in your sport, you need to attend a Parent/Athlete meeting to get all the information for the season. The following dates will be reserved for each sport:

Monday August 17th – Football and Girls Swimming
Tuesday August 18th – Golf
Wednesday August 19th – Volleyball
Thursday August 20th – Girls Soccer and Cross Country

All meetings will start promptly at 6pm.

If you have participated in a sport at WSHS in the past, you can leave after your coach has provided you with all the information for the upcoming season. If you are new to WSHS or never played a sport before, you need to stay for a short Code of Conduct meeting with Athletic Director Trevor Leopold. Please make sure if you have not done so, SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR YOUR ATHLETIC PHYSICALS NOW with your doctor.

YMCA LEVEL 9 - SUMMER LEARNING PROGRAM
Level 9 is a 9th grade transition program for incoming FRESHMAN to West Seattle HS focused on preparing students through academic learning and hands-on experiences. Level 9 funding requires that the majority of students served have performed below grade level in reading or math based on MSP or MAP data/and or 8th grade core class grades.

The program takes place on the campus of Chief Sealth High School from June 29th - August 7th. It is completely free, with breakfast and lunch provided through the City of Seattle free summer food program. Students can earn 0.5 elective credit upon completion, while also earning service learning hours that can be used towards graduation. Monday - Thursday we provide academics and enrichment, and on Fridays we go on field trips. Spots are limited, please apply as soon as possible.

FOOTBALL SIGN UP!
Here's whats happening with Sports Football Sign-Up for all students that would like to try out and or play Summer and Fally 2015-16 Football: Football Players sign up now to participate in next year’s 2015-16 football season and Summer FB.
Yes, even those who played this year must fill out a brand new full Athletic Sports Packet, yes, every year. Please double check to make sure you have a current physical.  Please personally deliver before or after school or at lunch time your Sport Packet and money to Ms. Shelley Yeigh, located in the Main Office. Packets will be accepted Tuesday, June 2nd, through Friday, June 12th. Thank you. Ms. Shelley Yeigh

TEALS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Technology Education and Literacy in Schools TEALS is a Microsoft YouthSpark Program that drives
industry-wide participation to help high schools start and grow sustainable Computer Science (CS) program by building a CS teacher’s capacity.

We're looking for dynamic software engineers who can relate well to high school aged students to partner with WSHS for the 2015-2016 school-year and possibly beyond. Needed 2-4 volunteers for the TEALS class (based on recruiting), who provide approximately 1,000 hours of support per year.

WSHS BASKETBALL SUMMER CAMP
West Seattle High School Wildcat Basketball summer camp is open for registration!

JULY 6, 7, 8, 9 (Monday—Thursday)
9:00 am—4:00 pm
Grades 4th—9th
All Skill Levels Welcome!

Join us in the gym for four days of basketball FUN-damentals. We focus on positive reinforcement and team and individual development through healthy competition. Camp open to grades 4th—9th. We encourage all skill levels to participate. Boys and girls welcome!
