"There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call...

    The Twilight Zone"

Welcome back to the 1930’s, where a young Rod Serling is first bringing his supernatural stories to life on “WSHS Radio presents The Twilight Zone Radio Hour”. In preparation for the premiere broadcast of his show, Mr. Serling is holding a call for performers and foley artists (sound effects people). He is seeking:

    • A cast of 10-20 actors who are capable of vocally performing multiple roles, ranging in age, species, etc. in at least two stories
    • 3 Foley artists who will be responsible for adding sound effects and background noises

Auditions are open to all and will be entirely virtual.

    • Actors are asked to record a video in which they will act out a scene containing 4-6 characters, distinguishing characters from one another vocally through dialogue. Accents alone will not be considered vocal modifications.
    • Scenes may be taken from plays, screenplays, television scripts, or books.
    • Anyone auditioning to be a Foley artist should record a video of themselves creating a variety of 4-6 sound effects using ordinary household items.
    • Videos may be 2-3 minutes
    • Videos will be uploaded to a Flipgrid that will be available from October 19 – October 23
      • The Flipgrid link will be posted to
      • The Flipgrid will be private to Mr. Wiener, Mr. Finley, and the production stage manager; nobody else will be able to view your audition

We are planning to premiere the show during the first week of December. Due to the unprecedented circumstances under which we are producing this, several factors have yet to be determined, such as whether performances will be live, pre-recorded, or a combination of the two.

    Examples of staged radio plays:
