    Hello West Seattle Families,

    We will be offering the College Board’s SAT at West Seattle High School on March 4th.  We will be testing all Juniors in the main gym. Doors will open at 8AM on March 4th and will be closed at 8:40AM no late arrivals will be admitted.

     

     

     

    Students must bring the following items:

    • Identification (Driver’s License or school ID)
    • #2 Pencils with eraser
    • Acceptable Calculator (must be battery operated, bring extra batteries. all scientific and most graphing calculators are acceptable, students may not share calculators)

    Students must leave personal items at home:

    No backpacks, smartphones, laptops, cell phones, headphones, or wearable tech, will be allowed.

    The exam is being offered at no cost to the class of 2021.  WSHS preregistered the entire Junior Class of students. Students/families that opt out of the exam will need to contact the attendance office to excuse their day. There will be no regular Junior classes offered on March 4th.

    The SAT is composed of 5 components:

    1. Reading: 65 minutes
    2. Writing & Language: 35 minutes
    3. Math (no calculator): 25 minutes
    4. Math (approved calculator): 55 minutes
    5. Essay: 50 minutes

    Students will have access to snacks during scheduled 5-minute breaks between sections but cannot have food or drink at their desk. Students will be dismissed for the day once all the booklets have been collected and accounted for.

    Finally, there is no early dismissal from the exam - no exceptions.
