Booster Club Meeting Tonight, 7PM
Flu Shots at WSHS - Oct 11
Tuesday, 10/11 from 3-6PM
has partnered with the Seattle Visiting Nurse Association to provide
flu shot clinics for our schools. Each year students missing 38 million
school days due to influenza. The CDC recommends that EVERYONE, over six months of age, should be vaccinated against the flu. The
clinic is open to all Seattle Public Schools faculty, staff, students,
and their families (children four years of age and older). Students
under the age of 18 will need a Patient Consent Form signed by a parent
or guardian. Patient Consent Forms are available from the WSHS School
Nurse (drop by the Health Center or email us). Complete one for each person and bring the form(s) with you to the event. Forms will also be available at the clinic.
participants will be asked to provide their health insurance
information (card) to receive an immunization. SVNA will electronically
bill the insurance plan for your flu shot. They bill almost all
insurance plans, but are not able to accept Cigna or Kaiser. Flu shots
are considered preventive care and normally are not subject to
deductibles or co-pays. Students 18 years and under without current health insurance coverage will be offered a flu shot at no cost. Adults without current insurance coverage may pay the $30.00 immunization fee with cash or check.

from 4:15-9 with public comments at 5:30. You can sign up to talk or
just come as a supporter. You can also download a petition that the Booster Club created, collect signatures and drop it off at school or email it to them by October 12. Email us for more info or to share your input.

Athletes have to get out of class at 12:45pm to catch 1pm bus for 4pm
events (or later events). They are missing all of 5th and 6th periods,
and part of lunch or 4th period. This is not only hard on the students
but also makes for a very difficult teaching environment for the
teachers. Students qualifying for free and reduced lunch are missing
Clothing Drive Continues Through Thanksgiving
The WSHS girls basketball team is partnering with Clothes for a Cause to hold a used clothing and textile drive. Instead of discarding surplus clothing and household linens, give them a second life, donate your used clothing, bedding, shoes and linens to the WSHS Girls Basketball Team. All donated items will either be re-worn, recycled or re-purposed. Drop off bins will be located at WSHS, at the SWAC West Seattle football games or the girls basketball team will come to your house to pick up donated items. This fundraiser will help the West Seattle Girls Basketball get to California while you clean out your clutter. Email us for a pick-up at email@example.com. Download the flier to see what types of items can be donated.
