The WSHS PTSA is
hosting an important Drug Use parent program at the next general meeting on
Tuesday, March 28 at 7PM in the library. Research shows that early drug use
increases the chances of addiction and harm to adolescent brain development.
Washington State laws related to drugs and alcohol have changed, and youth are
struggling to understand why they should remain drug-free in an environment
with increased availability and normalized use. Many parents are finding it
difficult to keep their children safe, healthy, and drug free. This session
reviews local substance use data from the Washington State Healthy Youth
Survey, new marijuana laws and products, educational programs, resources, and
strategies for coaching your child through this challenging landscape. We hope
to see you there!
