The Outstanding Educator recognizes individuals who have gone beyond the normal expectations of their jobs to make the learning environment fun, beneficial and challenging. An outstanding educator could be a teacher, assistant, custodian, administrator, or community member. The Golden Acorn Award is presented to a volunteer in recognition of his/her dedication and service to children and youth.

Award winners receive a pin and a certificate from the Washington State PTA. Their names are added to a plaque on display in the WSHS office, and PTSA contributes $65 in each winner’s name to the Washington State PTA Scholarship Foundation, which provides scholarships to post-secondary students.
